My Letter to Campus Crossing
As most of you know our videos were posted on thedirty.com. Nothing good comes from that site. Although our views went up thousands in days, the dirty bump is the opposite of a blessing in disguise, it is a curse. Think about it: Matt Leinart, Alex Smith, Surviving Arizona...that's a fair comparison, right?
Either way, Campus Crossings (the company that owns the apartments at Star Pass) were threatening to fire some employees if the videos were not taken down. This was a ridiculous request as they had no control over what I put on the internet. This is the letter I wrote to the HR employee that was making these threats:
"Dear Ms. Holzmann,
My name is Ross Everett and I am the creator of the Star Pass Pool Party videos. I am writing to tell you that the videos have been taken down. This has been done not because of any of your actions, but rather because of their posting on a reality trash blog www.thedirty.com. I suggest you look at the site and see what other videos and comments are being made about your company. You will see that the video that I posted was the least harmful to your company's reputation.
Furthermore, I feel that the complete lack of professionalism and grace that you exhibited when handling this situation with was far more detrimental to the reputation of your company than any viral video could be. It is only due to the professional and poignant actions of Steven McPhereson and Steven Poleschuk that I retain any respect for your company as a whole.
The internet is a new frontier and you should feel very lucky that you had any ability to contact the creator of the video in the first place. There will be more videos circulating the internet in the future as my camera was not the only one rolling at this party. I wish that you will handle those situations in other ways rather than threatening to fire people who have no control over what goes on the internet.
Sincerely,
Ross Everett"
So for the record, we're not about thedirty. That's not why we make our videos. To use our videos to bash people and embarrass them is not what we're about. We love the U of A and our videos are strictly to promote and document the good times we have here.
Bear Down and stay tuned!

On our way to our return
So, Steve and I have been on a bit of a break. Not to say that we don't have enough footage for more episodes, but the time it takes to edit it is what's scarce. For those of you who follow us religiously, you know that Steve and I went to Florida this winter break and got the footage we need to make an episode of Cribs at my Nana's retirement home. For those of you who don't follow us that closely, thank you. It'd be weird if you knew where we went over winter break without us having told you.
Aside from the show, we have just completed a short 2 minute video for Zona Zoo Television (www.youtube.com/zonazootv) that you should all check out. It's short, It's not Surviving Arizona worthy, but it's Ross and Steve. So if you miss us, check it out.
I swear on Steve's ability to string sentences together (an iffy ability as is) that we will come out with more episodes. With the spring Star Pass pool party right around the corner, who knows if we will create a follow up to the video that pretty much birthed Steve and I into a state of YouTube-University-of-Arizona-dorm-semi celebrity.
On another note, I've decided to get some fan input for our next video:
what music would you like to see featured on Surviving Arizona?
Let us know in a comment.
Keep Surviving,
Ross

From freeonlinediary to Myspace to youtube to infinity and beyond
Welcome everyone to the official Surviving Arizona blog. In hopes of keeping up with technology, we have decided to share our innermost thoughts with those of you that care enough to read them. Now you can put in your input on our ideas before we make them into the videos that you all know and love. Stay Tuned!
